SERVPRO Volunteer Day at the Akron Canton Food Bank

SERVPRO Marketeers volunteered at the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank. They packed 3500 meals for Senior Citizens in the Akron area.

The past two years SERVPRO of West Akron promoted a food drive during the 2021 holiday season. We collected non-perishable food from our local insurance agencies. We donated over 1866 pounds of food to the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank which provided 1634 meals on tables to families in our local community. This February 2022 our marketing team volunteered by helping the workers at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank by sorting, inspecting, relabeling, or repackaging donated food.

Today, the Foodbank provides food and other essential items to member hunger-relief programs in eight Northeast Ohio counties: Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas, and Wayne. These member programs operate 500 food pantries, hot meal sites, shelters and other hunger-relief programs in the neighborhoods and communities where people need food.
